Dr. Lilly is a professor of clinical psychology and has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and white papers with trauma-exposed adults, with a particular emphasis on first responders.

Dr. Lilly and her team collaborate with organizations across the country to answer empirical questions that advance the field by identifying critical needs for at-risk, trauma-exposed populations.
Her work has been used to argue for job reclassification for 9-1-1 telecommunicators and increase funding and mental health services for law enforcement.
